Parma Family to Family Collaborative Holiday Festival - 12/18/2009

On December 18th, 2009 the Parma Area Family to Family Collaborative hosted a Holiday Festival at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church on Broadview Road in Parma.  They fed 138 people in 38 families.  The Parma Area Kiwanis Clubs assisted with this endeavor.

Four Kiwanians purchased food
Two Kiwanians helped put baskets of food together
Five Kiwanians helped with the set up on Thursday
Seven Kiwanians helped the night of the event

That totals 46 volunteer hours!

The night of the event, the children made pillows when they arrived.  Then the families were served dinner family style wiht the Valley Forge Strings serenading them.  Dinner was followed by a book reading and a movie.  At the end of the evening, each family was give a basket full of food enough for a Christmas meal at home and gloves, scarves, and hats, paper products, etc.

Thank you one and all who helped out in any way.  It was a fabulous event.

On behalf of the Parma Area Family Collaborative and the Parma City School District we would like to thank you for volunteering your time at the Holiday Meal Event. This event could not have been a success without your help!  The families really enjoyed the opportunity to spend a fun filled night together as a family.  We truly appreciate your dedication to the families in our community.  May you and your family have a happy and healthy New Year!
